WHY STEEL

WHY USE ENRICH STEEL BUILDINGS?

Enrich steel buildings provide excellent protection against wind, rain, snow, hail, ice and are even uniquely resistant to earthquakes. Steel is longer lasting and has one of the highest strength to weight ratios of any construction material. It won’t crack, warp, twist, rot, split or settle like wood might. And, your steel building is impervious to termite damage.

Save Time and Money

Due to the unique design of Enrich buildings, there is less labor required to manufacture the building and construct the foundation. Enrich buildings are virtually maintenance free. Each building is made with Galvalume Plus™ providing a 30-year factory warranty against corrosion. Over 75% of our customers build their buildings themselves all but eliminating the builder’s costs. This translates to a savings of both TIME and MONEY to our customers.

Design

Each Enrich steel building uses a clear span design that eliminates space waste caused by trusses. You get to use 100% of your building’s space, and can still finish the interior with traditional drywall, wiring, heating and air conditioning.

GALVALUME PLUS™

Galvalume Plus™ is an aluminum-zinc coated steel that provides extra corrosion protection. The cost of Galvalume Plus is about the same as that of galvanized steel.

Galvalume Plus offers the best qualities of aluminum-coated (aluminized) and zinc-coated (galvanized) steels. It has barrier corrosion resistance and heat resistance similar to aluminized and good bare edge galvanic protection and forming qualities like galvanized. So, Galvalume Plus will resist rust, the elements and fire while providing a sturdy and protective covering.

Galvalume Plus offers these advantages over galvanized at no extra cost on a per square foot basis:

  • At least twice the corrosion resistance of traditional galvanized coatings of similar thickness under the same exposure conditions
  • Excellent protection at cut edges
  • Exceptional heat reflectivity, resulting in lower energy load on buildings and improved interior comfort
  • A distinctive appearance, with a smooth, fine spangle and silvery metallic finish
  • High temperature resistance

Currently, uses for Galvalume Plus include car mufflers, standing seam roofing, tubing for fences, greenhouses, steel buildings and much more.

Produced for Enrich Steel by the steel mill (ArcelorMittal Dofasco), Galvalume Plus offers excellent cost-effectiveness, which we pass on to our customers.

Galvalume Plus™ Guarantee

Enrich Steel takes pride in providing the best steel building solution on the market. Due to our commitment to top-quality engineering using the best materials, we offer guarantees on all of our products.

Our buildings are manufactured of tough, 14 to 22-gauge AZ Galvalume Plus steel. This brand of steel carries a factory warranty of 30 years.

Corrosion Resistance

In a series of exposure tests performed over a 13-year period by Bethlehem Steel, Galvalume Plus coated steel was found to outlast galvanized. Galvalume Plus™, because of its combined protection of aluminum and zinc, has at least twice the service life, in most atmospheric environments, of conventional galvanized steel with the same coating thickness.

High Temperature Performance

Galvalume Plus™ steel resists intermediate and high temperatures far more effectively than galvanized steel.

Specifically, Galvalume Plus steel shows no discoloration up to 315°C (600°F) during continuous or intermittent exposure over a prolonged period. Above this temperature, some discoloration does occur and roughening of the surface is possible. Neither this discoloration nor roughening, however, reduces Galvalume Plus’s resistance to rust. Galvalume Plus maintains its rust-resistance up to 675°C (1250°F) .

Additionally, Galvalume Plus has excellent heat reflectivity, up to operating temperatures of about 315°C (600°F). This heat reflectivity makes a building cooler inside on hot, sunny days.

Painting Galvalume Plus™

Galvalume Plus readily accepts most of the paints recommended for galvanized steel. The surface should be dry and free of oil, grease, dirt, dust and other contaminants. No weathering period is necessary.

The following suggestions of paint types should be used only as a guideline. Specific paints and recommendations should be discussed with paint suppliers.

A paint supplier should be consulted to select the most appropriate painting system and to ensure compatibility of primer and topcoat.
